The Zillertal: a winter sports paradise

You will find the entire Hochfügen-Hochzillertal ski area and the Spieljoch region not far from Stacherhof. There is guaranteed snow into April and combined, these ski areas offer a total of 187 km of downhill runs for wedeling, carving, snowboarding, and off-piste, powder snow or mogul skiing.

Zillertal SuperSkiPass

With the SuperSkiPass, you can extend the offering to include:

649 km of slopes throughout the Zillertal, comprising 74.4 km of black slopes, 410.8 km of red slopes and 164 km of blue pistes at 550 to 3,250 metres above sea level.

Cross-country skiing

The sunny, vast basin of the Zillertal is the perfect setting for cross-country skiing. An array of sparkling ski trails run along the towns and forests of this winter landscape covered in fresh snow. Breathe in the fresh mountain air on the 70 km of trails, which also include high-altitude tracks.

Tobogganing

Snowball fights and playing in the snow are all part of the experience. Most toboggan runs in the region can be reached on foot—and there is usually an inn at the top where you can stop off to enjoy something warm to drink. The Goglhof run is 3.5 km long and the Kupfnerberg run is 3 km long, both offering an afternoon of fun.

Winter hikes

Those looking for a peaceful and inspiring winter experience will find Fügen to be the ideal starting point for snowshoe hiking and ski tours. With fur-covered skis you ascend rhythmically at your own pace to the heights of the Tuxer mountains and then sweep down to the valley through the deep snow.
